Diraq Opens U.S. Technology Hub in Santa Monica

New hub taps Southern California’s deep bench of specialist quantum engineering expertise, with close access to the region's technology companies and partners.

SANTA MONICA, CA, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Diraq, the silicon quantum computing pioneer, today announced the opening of its U.S. Technology Hub in Santa Monica, California. The hub brings together a 20-strong multi-disciplinary team with deep expertise in silicon spin qubits, tapping into Southern California's uniquely deep concentration of quantum talent, and placing Diraq alongside the region's leading semiconductor, aerospace, and technology companies, foundries, and research partners.

The Santa Monica team spans integrated circuit design and architecture, software, device modeling, and machine learning. Diraq plans to double the size of the hub over the next 12 months. The hub will partner closely with Diraq’s Australian headquarters and centre of excellence in Sydney, enabling engineering capability on both sides of the Pacific.

Expanding U.S. Footprint
Santa Monica is part of Diraq's growing U.S. footprint, with each location supporting a distinct part of the company's technology and commercial roadmap:

- Palo Alto: Diraq's U.S. headquarters and base for product development and ecosystem partnerships, providing access to Silicon Valley's semiconductor and computing ecosystem.
- Santa Monica: Diraq's U.S. technology hub, delivering integrated circuit design and architecture, software, device modeling, machine learning, and other engineering functions.
- Chicago: Diraq's first U.S. quantum laboratory, providing dedicated infrastructure for qubit measurement, cryogenic CMOS testing, and component testing and verification.

Together with Diraq's Sydney headquarters and technology hub in Australia, these locations expand the engineering, experimental, and commercial capabilities supporting Diraq's roadmap toward utility-scale quantum computing and the launch of its first product in 2029.

Engineering Silicon Spin Qubits at Scale
Diraq builds quantum processors using silicon spin qubits and CMOS-compatible manufacturing processes, an approach designed to leverage existing semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure and ultimately enable millions of qubits on a single chip.

The Santa Monica hub will support the engineering work required as Diraq's technology increases in scale, complementing experimental R&D capabilities in Sydney and Chicago and strengthening the company's ability to move from device-level advances toward fault-tolerant, commercially useful systems.
